'Insurance market tempting foreign insurers in Croatia'
08 July 2008
Croatia may be an attractive insurance market to foreign insurers compared to other central and eastern European nations, it is claimed.
The country rises above other countries in the area because of its strong regulatory framework, according to the Croatia Insurance Report by Research and Markets.
Fragmentation in the competitive landscape and development of the market in the years to come could see more foreign investment, it suggests.
In addition, non-life premiums, such as motor insurance, have grown "significantly" in the last two years and are expected to increase by 16 per cent annually.
As well as a growing insurance industry, Research and Markets also recently revealed Croatia is bridging the gap in broadband usage in comparison to the rest of Europe.
It has been found that the number of people using mobile broadband in the country has increased, with the report stating "liberalisation of the fixed market and adoption of the new Electronic Communications Act" is spurring its use.
