Iron Maiden to play Split
20 December 2007
Tickets go on sale today for a concert in the Croatian holiday town of Split as part of the 2008 tour of veteran band Iron Maiden.
The Somewhere Back In Time World Tour will hit Croatia on August 10th at the city stadium.
The British heavy metal legends are looking forward to visiting Croatia's Adriatic coast.
"This will be our very first visit ever to the city of Split and we're very excited about getting there to play on this tour," said bassist Steve Harris.
"We have visited Croatia only a couple of times before, both times in Zagreb much further north in the country.
"So to us this will just be like playing somewhere new for the first time which always gets us going on stage and I'm sure many of our friends from Zagreb will be making the trip down south for this special show."
Accommodation in Split is a great base for a summer holiday and the area offers gorgeous scenery, history and architecture as well as being a centre for watersports.
Its most famous landmark is the magnificent palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian.
