Kent travellers drive surge in Croatia holiday demand

Demand for Croatia holiday provision has led to a surge in business at Kent International Airport, it has emerged.

A substantial boost in the number of people expressing interest in flights across the Adriatic has now led tour operators to implement new Croatian services, reports Kent News.

One representative told the paper that her organisation would "definitely" be offering more Croatia options as a result of the eastern European destination's growing popularity.

"We were testing the water when we launched Croatia but the route has sold out extremely quickly," remarked Alison Keeble, Newmarket Holidays' regional charter director.

Travel experts have noted that Croatia particularly appeals to independent-minded globe-trekkers who like to immerse themselves in the culture of less crowded hotspots, often renting a villa or apartment to avoid more populated resorts.

Ms Keeble pointed out that a holiday show held in January at the airport, near Ramsgate, had been organised to highlight the benefits of less populated and as yet relatively "untouched" destinations like Croatia.
