Montenegro to expand waling and cycling routes

Montenegro is set to expand its biking and mountaineering infrastructure and intends to create 6,000 km of new trails around the country.
The Montenegro Mountaineering Association along with non-governmental organisations and mountaineering clubs has started the Coastal Mountain Transversal Route project which is aiming to encourage more tourists to explore the country's southern hinterland.
With the new trails in place the country could soon attract more tourists than it does currently, as the majority go there to enjoy the attractions on the coast.
Some of the paths in Montenegro offer visitors the chance to see historic forts, rare Mediterranean plants and excellent views.
One high-profile visitor who will be in Montenegro this summer is Madonna, who will be performing there as part of a global tour to celebrate her 50th birthday.
The Queen of Pop will be singing at Jaz Beach in Budva, the same venue where the Rolling Stones played last year.
