New flights to Split with easyJet
11 December 2007
easyJet has announced a new flight route from Bristol to the historic town of Split, making a holiday in Croatia more accessible for people in the south-west of England.
The twice weekly route will start on April 26th next year, just in time for people booking accommodation in Croatia for their spring and summer holidays.
David Osborne, easyJet UK general manager, commented: "easyJet will launch 18 new routes over the next few months from our bases across the UK and we will shortly announce further expansion, re-enforcing our position as the UK's largest airline."
Split is situated on a small peninsula on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea. Originally a Greek colony it is most famous for the retirement home of Roman emperor Diocletian.
Diocletian was the only emperor to voluntarily remove himself from office and built a magnificent palace here in AD 293.
Split's Mediterranean climate makes it a perfect destination for a holiday in Croatia. With hot, dry summers and warm winters, Split is one of the sunniest places in Europe.
