Spring 'a perfect time' for Croatia holiday

A new selection of Croatia travel enthusiasts have explored the country and concluded that it is the "perfect" place to sightsee, avoid crowds and achieve value for money.

Visitors to the New York Times Trade and Travel Show this month also lauded neighbouring country Bosnia and Herzegovina for its "exciting" opportunities for both day excursions and longer, villa-based stays.

"Exploring Croatia and the Adriatic coast in early spring and late fall are perfect times for sightseeing, avoiding crowds and getting the best value for your money," confirmed Mihanovic Kuchan, chief executive of Croatian cruise specialist Jauntee.

Speaking from over 20 years of experience in promoting Croatia among US residents, she assured interested parties that Croatia is the "jewel of the Adriatic".

Outlining some of the country's finest "natural wonders", she described Plitvice Lakes and "exciting excursions" in Pula, Zadar, Split, Korcula and Dubrovnik.

To conclude, Ms Kuchan advised people seeking to "go native" in rented villas or apartments to avail of Croatia's "scrumptious and delectable" cuisine, including wine from many of the destination's renowned vintages.

Retail analyst Research and Markets revealed this month that Croatia's burgeoning food and drink industry is actually contributing to economic growth in the country.
