Surge in Croatia property interest to continue

The popularity of villas and other properties in Croatia continues to surge as a leading international consultant reveals record business in the country.
Colliers International Croatia, which has bases in Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split, believes it has carried out more property valuations and advisory work than other international consultancies operating in the country.
Vedrana Likan, general manager of the firm, pointed out the latest figures' indication that international interest in Croatian investments remains strong.
"The fact that so much advisory and valuation work has been undertaken shows that international investors are still keenly interested in undertaking new projects in Croatia," she remarked.
Ms Likan added that "a lot of large investments" in the Adriatic paradise are likely to be on the horizon.
Opened last year following the success of the firm's Zagreb and Dubrovnik bases, Colliers' Split office is intended to drive development in Split, Sibenik and Zadar, with crowd-pulling shopping centres and office developments in the pipeline.
Ivana Bucevic, who previously headed the Dubrovnik office, stated her intention to boost the quality of life in Split and transform the destination into "the real centre of Dalmatia".
