Tourists recommended to visit Dubrovnik
27 June 2008
Dubrovnik is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Adriatic and should be visited now before it becomes even more popular, it has been recommended.
Kieran Meeke, writing in the Metro, said the town's "romantic old streets" and "lovely wine" is likely to be attractive to visitors.
He claims walking around the walls of Dubrovnik is one of the first things tourists should do when visiting the historical town.
"At almost two kilometres, it's worth taking a break along the way to descend and enjoy one of the many cafes, perhaps one specialising in the seafood for which the area is famed," he continued.
Dubrovnik was recently recommended as one of the best restored wall cities in Europe by the Daily Telegraph.
The newspaper said the Unesco world heritage area makes for the perfect break, particularly during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, which takes place from July 10th to August 25th.
