29 April 2008
A travel expert in the US has praised the Adriatic coastline as a holiday destination, describing the country as a whole as "refreshingly authentic".
Writing in the Los Angeles Daily News, Naush Boghossian was full of praise for Croatia, which has been described as the jewel of the Adriatic.
In the article, the expert wrote: "After one week of driving along the Dalmatian Coast it had become clear what a trip to Croatia meant: amazing wine, tasty food, unbelievable natural beauty, quaint and impossibly charming towns with narrow walkways and cobblestone streets, and abundant warmth and hospitality from the locals."
The article went on to say that Croatia is a "clear blend" of Greek and Slavic cultures and is already a "hot destination" for Europeans.
Meanwhile, a number of islands in Croatia have been put up for sale. Areas of land located in the Kornati National Park are being made available to buyers after the government declined their first option on them.
