Unspoilt Croatia has the magic of nature

Croatia is the jewel of the Adriatic and "puts the Caribbean to shame", writes Naush Boghossian in the Californian magazine Contra Costa Times.

He described a holiday in Croatia as involving "amazing wine, tasty food, unbelievable natural beauty, quaint and impossibly charming towns with narrow walkways and cobblestone streets, and abundant warmth and hospitality from the locals".

The travel writer rented accommodation in Dubrovnik and on the island of Hvar and enjoyed the spectacular scenery by driving down the coastal road.

"On one side were sweeping views of the Adriatic; on the other, towering mountains and plush greenery, with unbelievably pungent pine trees," he wrote.

This group also chartered a boat and spent the day cruising in the Pakleni islands. Anchoring in the private Palmizana cove they enjoyed in a lazy day swimming and enjoying the wine and food they had bought at the local market near their villa in Dubrovnik.

Croatia perfectly merges the Italian, Greek and Slavic elements of its history and its natural scenery and towns are still unspoilt.
