Unspoilt Croatia is a fascinating experience

Croatia's unspoilt coastline offers the same views people enjoyed hundreds of years ago, reports Emma Pomfret on Xpress4me.com.

Franciscan monks, Romans and even Napoleon enjoyed Croatia's Adriatic coast and the islands and ancient, red-roofed towns are just as beautiful today.

The charming coastal resort town of Tucepi is a convenient base to explore the region of Dalmatia from your Croatian accommodation.

Ms Pomfret describes Tucapi as "a quaint old town in the centre with narrow stone-paved streets, a charming main church square with a tiny fruit and flower market, and an ancient Franciscan monastery open to the public year-round".

Clean, uncrowded beaches fringed by pine forests and olive groves make this a perfect early summer holiday destination.

From here you can visit Split with its famous palace built by Roman Emperor Diocletian. It's also possible to see the "pearl of the adriatic", Dubrovnik, and even do some island hopping.
