Urban festival in Croatia summer
11 January 2008
Zagreb's annual urban festival is an exciting reason for a Croatian holiday. If you spend a few days in the Croatian capital in June you can enjoy a huge range of exciting multimedia performances and art installations.
Visual artists and performers get together to communicate with the urbanites of the city, from their base in a disused former industrial zone to the east.
This year's theme will be "How we regret" and "interactive, participatory and socially committed" projects are invited to apply to be part of the festival.
Pieces will be chosen that address urban issues and which attempt to change the urban landscape and associated human behaviours.
During the event, artists take over the urban infrastructure of Zagreb streets, squares and buildings are all up for grabs.
International artists will also be participating, including people from Argentina, Canada, the US and UK.
As well as the scheduled performances there will also be regular discussion forums and workshops running.
