Istrian Country Villa with Large Garden and Pool, sleeps 6 - near Sveti Lovrec
This delightful country villa is located near Sveti Lovrec, a small village located in western Istria. Set amongst 6500m2 of private grounds, the villa offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing peaceful holiday in stunning surroundings. In view of the exceptionally large garden the villa is ideal for active children.
The villa is approached via a country lane and into a private driveway which sits to the side of the villa. The main entrance to the house is located at the front (facing the pool and garden) where guests walk onto a covered terrace positioned in front of the pool, and then enter the villa directly into an open plan lounge / dining area which at one end contains a separate country kitchen. A couple of steps up at the rear of the lounge area there is an annexe containing a double bedroom and separate shower room. From the dining area, a set of French doors leads back out onto the covered terrace which features an outdoor dining table and chairs. The first floor features two double bedrooms and a separate family bathroom, whilst outside, as well as the pool and garden there is also a large ‘ranch style’ covered dining and BBQ area.
Car hire is recommended at this villa. The village of Sveti Lovrec is just a few minutes’ drive away where guests will find a post office, grocery shop and other restaurants nearby. Areas of interest within the area include the Medieval Hill top towns of Motovun and Groznjan as well as the seaside towns of Porec, Rovinj and Vrsar. A little further afield, the Brijuni islands, the Roman amphitheatre Pula Arena in Pula and a day trip to Venice are all recommended excursions that are available from this region.

Pricing and booking information
Pricing is calculated per property per night in GBP Sterling. Many destinations also require tourist tax to be paid. Tourist tax starts from £0.92 per adult per night, and £0.46 per night per child aged 12-17 at time of travel. If tourist tax is applicable to the destination you are travelling to, this will be shown in the booking process. For tourist tax payable at time of booking, the cost will be added to your subtotal. For tourist tax payable locally, the cost will be shown at time of booking and on documentation.
All bookings subject to a £25 booking fee.
A 30% deposit is required at time of booking. Full balance is due 10 weeks prior to arrival.
If booking within 10 weeks of arrival, the full cost of the villa must be paid at the time of booking.

For online bookings, payment can be made by credit or debit card. Credit card payments (Visa or Mastercard) incur a credit card fee of 2% of the total amount of your booking. There is no surcharge for Debit card payments. All major currencies are accepted when paying online by credit card.

The villa was so secluded that it didn't have WiFi. This was both an advantage (some real off line situation so I could not check mails ;) and a disadvantage, as we had to plan our trip back and therefore we needed an internet connection. There was some problem with a water boiler that broke down, and this was fixed in a very short notice.
Beautiful location, very quiet and natural area. Due to that location there was also an abundance or rare insect, amongst which some beautiful butterflies, but also we encountered five scorpions. With small children, we had to take some extra care, but it is funny to see how quickly you get used to that. The gifts from the owner at our arrival (a fruit basket, some cookies, milk and juice ...) were highly appreciated, as we could relax immediately instead of first having to look for a shop in the neighborhood.
Impressed with: The friendly people, who seem to be all speaking four or five different languages, in combination with the excellent food were two things we had not anticipated. We knew the landscapes were beautiful from the pictures, but these things made our stay extra nice.
Not impressed with: Sorry, I have thought about it for a few minutes, but I can't find any disadvantage.
Recommend: PPizzeria San Lorenzo is the closest restaurant, but still some 5 km away, and is quite good. But then, it is really difficult in Croatia to get any bad food ;). In this and many other aspects, Croatia is better than Italy.
Favourite villa moment: A barbecue in the special BBQ 'house' separate from the main villa: nice view, sheltered from wind from three sides, and still in open air. A place to linger, even after nightfall.
