The villa was located in a beautifully secluded bay and all the necessary equipment was provided. The owner was amazing kind and relaxed and even did 2 car journeys from Trogir to take me and my friends to the villa as we had no car. A meal had also been prepared for our arrival.

Impressed with: The water is so clear and the people are very kind and accommodating.
Recommend: Lanterna restaurant on the bay. It was delicious!! Also great for sunset cocktails.
Favourite Villa Moment: Having meals and relaxing on the large terraces with beautiful views. Doing little day trips on the fishing boat.

We just loved the setting, its terraces, furniture and views, the dedicated deck by the sea with loungers and parasol. Whilst we know mosquitos / bugs are a given on holiday in Med - there were quite a lot of coils, some of the window nets were broken. Advice on shutting doors would be good. Could not get oven to work, but grill ok. Gas jets seemed to be the wrong sort as they 'sooted' the saucepans.
Owner was extremely friendly - and fish and mussels on arrival nice. offered to pick up other members of party (we preferred to do ourselves
A booklet in the house giving local information - could not find one - eg where to buy fish, where good restaurants were (apart from nearby one), even a visitors book for us and others to record their own finds in as well.
First booking was very friendly, gave us reassurance that this would work, that you knew your properties.

      Impressed with:
      Beautiful, clean, greener than Greece
      Not impressed with:  Nothing
Recommend: Corto Maltese near fishmarket in Split - new, slightly quirky, but yummy and friendly and v helpful on gluten free food KRKA National park
Favourite villa moment: Looking out over the sea, just magic! Has not expected from the pictures that it would be that good (add a pic to website?)

Villa Comments: We have repaired the cooker and we also repaired door locks.

      Stayed September 2015

Excellent-Good. We enjoyed the terraces a lot. Owner was always friendly and absolutely helpful.

Impressed with: Visiting Split and Trogir
Not impressed with: We had the worst traffic jam before leaving Croatia when going back by car towards Austria.
Recommend: We had a good dinner in the Lanterna restaurant.
Favourite villa moment: Enjoying a sun downer on the terrace with the porch swing.

      Stayed August 2013

The property has an office water cooler for mineral water - this is a brilliant idea and I would recommend it for every property. The outdoor area was fantastic with a brilliant barbecue.

Owner was very helpful and charming. We were pleased he met us at the airport as the property would have been hard to find and his wife had a lovely fish lunch ready for us when we got there. He was also helpful if we had problems during our stay, and was happy to let us borrow flippers for swimming, toys for our toddler etc. And his homemade schnapps was excellent

There did not seem to be a book/folder containing details of local shops, doctors etc, where to take the rubbish, or what to do if the water went off (which it did). All of these things we found for ourselves or were told by the owner, but in villas we have stayed at in other countries there has often been a helpful folder of information. A little more space for hanging clothes might also have been useful.

Impressed with: We have been several times before. The food is great - simple, but great quality, always freshly prepared and often good value. The people are very friendly and charming. They generally speak good English though there were times when we found a few words of Croatian or German were useful. It has some amazing historic buildings - Diocletian's Palace, Trogir Cathedral etc. The Split art gallery was also a pleasant surprise.
Not impressed with: The local roads can be rather rough - the one down to the villa in particular - although the main roads are well maintained. The very relaxed approach to life is generally wonderful, but can be annoying when you are trying to pay a bill in a restaurant.
Recommend:The nearby Konoba Lanterna is very handy - not the cheapest place, but a great location less than 5 mins walk from the villa. You can even swim round to it from the beach in front of the house. The lamb "peka" (lamb baked under a dome in a wood fire) is worth ordering, but needs 24 hours notice. Rather than drive into Split (parking is a nightmare) we got the ferry from Trogir which brings you in right on the Riva. Ferry is run by Bura lines - check times as not very frequent. Trogir market is great, though market and shops in Marina are handy and useful for most things.
Favourite villa moment: Eating fish on the terrace which we had cooked in the barbecue with rosemary from the garden of the villa. The fish were from the fish farm about 20 mins drive away and were still flapping (literally) when we bought them. With the local white wine and excellent local bread this was a meal to remember. Other favourite moment is swimming in the bay in front of the villa. The water was so calm and the bay quiet. The sea is amazingly clear and often pleasantly warm. The villa's bathing area and ladder make it easy to get in and out. You just need to watch out for sea urchins near the ladder, but these can be easily moved with a broom handle to dislodge them and a kid's fishing net to transfer them away from the ladder. We swam every day - fantastic!

      Stayed June 2013

Property is fantastic - the photos and description do not do it justice. It really is only 20 steps to the beach. It would have been helpful to know that there we no shops in the village - not even a café. Owner was great - cooked us a lovely meal on arrival, told us all about the property, and was very helpful in general. A big thanks for his lovely home.

Impressed with:  Lovely people who welcome visitors, great weather, roads fairly empty (out of the towns)
Not impressed with: Traffic in town centres is horrendous - don't drive in!
Recommend: There is nothing really in the village - however we went to the KRKA national park for the day which was great (you can get a bus from the village).
Favourite villa moment: Drinks on the terrace in the evening

      Stayed August 2012

The owner was very kind, he cooked us several time for free! He was fantastic. There was a restaurant in the corner: beautiful view, perfect food.

      Stayed June 2012

Certainly requires a car to reach this property. The owner was most helpful and we felt we could call on him at any point should anything arise. The owner and his father together left a good impression on all of our group (a big asset in the renting of this villa) and cooked a fish supper on the date of our arrival.
Impressed with: The landscape and its ability to take one's breath away.
Not impressed with: Some of the crazy driving on the smaller roads (overtaking when not allowed).
Recommend: 'Vikend' restaurant- for Suckling pig (roasted over an open fire)
Favourite villa moment: The ability to sit on the terrace each evening in the warm temperatures

      Stayed June 2012

It is very quiet location for people who wants to leave daily noise for some time. The owners are very friendly people. The area is rather with private holiday houses with not so many people around. Neighbors looking for you as for strangers as there are a lot of private properties. Beside this all was OK

      Stayed July 2011

      Perfect.

      Stayed September 2010

The location is wonderful although getting there with your own car might be slightly tricky (a very steep and narrow road/track). The owner however is extremely helpful and willing to help as much as he can, even offering a lift from the Split airport to the villa and preparing a welcoming lunch with fish and mussels.

Impressed with: Coast and the transparent sea, food and welcoming people.
Recommend:  Konoba Lanterna (very good food and a beautiful location by the sea), only 100m. from the villa Towns of Trogir and Sibenik well worth a visit, but visiting Split was our main attraction, a beautiful ancient town within the remains of the Roman Diocletian Palace. Full of bars and excellent restaurants.
Favourite villa moment: Snorkeling in the sea and spotting an octopus.

      Stayed July 2014

Outdoor shower would be plus, kids leave a pool in the bathroom. Also partly roofed terrace for smokers in rainy days would be a bonus as we had some.

The owner and his wife were great. Very relaxed approach made our holiday stress free. Really nice people and very helpful. We hired a car, but not through your website. But you gave us an advice to hire one.

Impressed with: We have been here for 8th time, so it speaks for itself. We always had a good time with family and friends.
Not impressed with: Split airport departure hall!!!! Almost all flights were delayed but information desk was empty. Space too small, nowhere to have a seat or meal. Overcrowded.
Recommend: We did not go to many places, but would recommend visiting Trogir. Also have a pint in Lanterna bar, great.
Favourite villa moment: Coming to the terrace at the morning and see the beautiful panorama of the bay, then going down for early swim, excellent.

      Stayed July/August 2014

The owner is fabulous, very kind, very helpful.

Recommend:In rainy days do not miss Split and Trogir, both cities old parts are gorgeous.
Favourite villa moment: The proximity of the sea, the private place at the beach is excellent. Great view from the terrace.
