Pretty 1 Bedroom Dalmatian Stone Cottages in Splitska, Brac Island
These two beautiful Dalmatian stone cottages are separated by a courtyard entrance thus ensuring adequate privacy between the two. Each cottage can either be rented as separate units or both together, subject to availability. Prices listed are per cottage. Located in the pretty village of Splitska which lies on Brac’s northern coast, the village has 3 restaurants, cafes and a grocery store. Beaches are within easy walking distance.
Entrance to both cottages are via an open courtyard. The first cottage consists of an open-plan kitchen/diner lounge area with double sofa-bed and separate shower room. Stairs lead to a galleried sleeping area with double bed and a door leading out onto a furnished terrace with views of the nearby orange grove and surrounding countryside. The second cottage is similar in layout although more rustic in style.
Car hire is recommended. The cottages would suit a couple or friends looking to stay in peaceful and picturesque surroundings yet be within easy access to all the attractions the island has to offer.

The addition of bikes is a great bonus of this property and overall the cottage has its own rustic charm. We have really enjoyed our stay there.
Recommend: Quiet and perfect for the family stay, the nearest café to Vala restaurant and Vala itself.
Favourite villa moment: Large terrace and brand new bicycles which were great for commuting between Splitska village, Postira and Dol.

Excellent – Good.
The state of repair/quality of the supplied bikes was poor. Although once contacted, the caretaker was quick to remedy the faults with the bikes. That being said, the good service by the caretaker did not improve the quality of the bikes and would suggest if like me, the main reason for taking the villa was the supplied bikes, then don't let this be a deciding factor, as good quality bikes are available locally for rates of £10.00 per day.

It was absolutely OK.
We had a problem at the beginning with the telephone number. We couldn’t call it, then a local person helped us. Maybe you should describe how to call the Croatian phone numbers. We decided that for next time we will come back to the same place, to the same property if its possible. We loved the stay there!
The "agent" he was just perfect! He is really nice and helpful!
Impressed with: The totally clean sea.
Not impressed with: The prices...
Recommend: There is a tourist route called "Hercules" which is a 15 minute walk in the village, it was nice
Favourite villa moment: The dinners in the balcony.

Excellent. The property was fabulous. However, the stairs were very steep and would not have been suitable for anyone with any kind of mobility issues. Also, Wi-Fi and some bedside lamps would have been good. Information about access to local exchange and banking facilities would have been useful as there were none in the village in which we stayed. Also, information about local bus timetables and ferry timetables would have been extremely useful. Extremely helpful excellent service from caretaker.
Impressed with: Splitska was very quiet and clean. Beautiful place to visit
Not impressed with: The seafood was very expensive.
Recommend: Vala restaurant served good food and the staff were very friendly. A 30 minute walk from Splitska in Postira you can hire a scooter to explore the island. That’s great fun!
Favourite villa moment: The whole week was relaxing and beautiful

Just that in such a nice island, the house should have been furnished with more windows, as we always had to keep the light on, however, on the plus side the air conditioner was really useful. (Liked) The sea, the landscape and the quietness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it suited our requirements being unspoilt i.e. civilized without being commercialized. It was our 3rd visit to Croatia but 1st stay on Brac, We had been on a day trip on previous visits and decided to stay this time and were not disappointed, as we said it is unspoilt, clean and enjoy the way of life

How unspoilt it was. Not too many English people! Best sea ever. Everything you need is there but it's a bit more adventurous than some destinations. The apartment was lovely and we had a wonderful stay. It was beautifully clean and we had a wonderful holiday. I'll be recommending Croatian Villas! Thank you

Perfect Brac was like Tuscany on a Greek island....

It was nice that there were some English books in the cottage. es, Caretaker was really nice to us and we contacted him without any problems. The WiFi signal was too weak inside our cottage so we had to use the Internet on the terrace which was not comfortable in full sun or during rain.
Impressed with: Clear and warm seawater, picturesque villages.
Not impressed with: Rain. We didn't expect it. Really. Cool evenings even after a very sunny day.
Recommend: Hercules trail, Škrip, Konoba Žiža, evening folk show at Splitska port. ...and of course the crystal-clear seawater!
Favourite villa moment: Watching stars at the terrace.
Villa Comment: We have moved the router and the WiFi signal is much better now.

There was nothing to say how steep the staircase in the property was and as I am 20 weeks pregnant - they were a real concern for me - especially as the toilet is downstairs and the beds are upstairs! (a couple of night time visits to the bathroom were pretty tricky!!)
The website says '100 m to the nearest beach' - this is not true. (Unless you count a concrete slab as a beach) we loved our stay - but it is not what we were expecting from the website. I am lucky I am small - but my boyfriend kept bumping his head on the very low beams in the bedroom!
The beach is around a mile away from the property and it has a lovely little cafe hut in the summer - selling hot and cold drinks as well as some snacks.
Impressed with: Views
Not impressed with: The food
Favourite villa moment: Sitting on the veranda playing cards - very relaxing :)
Villa Comments: Nearest beach is 100 meters and it is a concrete pontoon. Pebble beach is about 1 km
