Nearby Split is well worth a visit - just an hour by bus or boat from Trogir, it's an ideal city for sightseeing, with an old town set in the Roman built Diocletian Palace. Šibenik is also within easy reach for a day trip, and the stunning waterfalls at Krka National Park are unmissable.
