5 Bedroom Istrian Stone Villa With Pool, sleeps 10
This beautifully decorated stone villa with pool is set within spacious grounds in a beautiful part of the Istrian countryside. Decorated in a typical Istrian country style with exposed stone walls and oak beamed ceilings. The villa would suit a large family/two families travelling together or a group of friends who wish to relax in stunning surroundings.
The property is approached along a gravel drive from the country road and through elegant gates into the main driveway/parking area. To the left there is a very spacious walled garden laid to lawn containing an impressive pool as well as a pool house. Steps from the pool area lead down into a shady terrace containing a BBQ and a table which can seat up to 10 persons. French doors from the terrace lead into a spacious kitchen also containing a table that can seat up to 10 persons along with another set of French doors on the opposite side leading out to the rear of the garden. An archway connects the kitchen to the main lounge area which features an impressive Istrian stone fireplace and two sets of French doors leading out into the rear of the garden. There is also a cloakroom and wine cellar on this level. The first floor contains two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom which features an en-suite bathroom. There is a separate shower room on this floor. Doors from the corridor open out onto an attractive balcony which offers guests distant sea views and steps down to the pool area. The second floor contains two double bedrooms each with en-suite shower rooms.
Car hire is recommended. The nearby village of Sveti Lovrec is just a few minutes drive away where guests will find a post office, grocery shop and other restaurants nearby. Areas of interest within the area include the Medieval Hill top towns of Motovun and Groznjan as well as the seaside towns of Porec, Rovinj and Vrsar. A little further afield, the Brijuni islands, the Roman amphitheatre in Pula and a day trip to Venice are all recommended excursions that are available from this region.

Impressed with: Cycling in Istria is very good with clearly signed routes to suit all abilities.
Not impressed with: Pula - worth half a day visit for the Ampitheatre otherwise very drab.
Recommend: Pizzaria in Sveti Lorec was good. 5 minute drive, 40 minute walk.
Favourite villa moment: BBQ early evening.

Everything was as we expected. We only had two problems, one was the air conditioning which seemed to cool the property very well during the day when we were not in it but at night it appeared to change to 'heating'and so made sleeping very difficult and the other problem was with ants in the kitchen no matter how careful we were to make sure no food was left around. Agent was extremely pleasant and helpful. Owner was also very pleasant when we were leaving
Impressed with: The sunshine and the cleanliness
Not impressed with: We had no complaints about our visit to Croatia
Favourite villa moment: The pool was excellent

Great pool & fabulous outdoor seating area. Poolside beach towels would have been a bonus. Lack of glasses for wine & soft drinks. Extra pillows would have been useful. Villa lovely but not brilliantly equipped. Local representative was friendly & helpful. Didn't really see the owner as he generally came round when we were still asleep.
Impressed with: Friendly people, beautiful scenery, great seafood & good value for money.
Not impressed with: Struggling to come up with anything negative to say about it to be honest. Not great if you're a big sandy beach fan I guess but we're not.
Recommend: Great pizzeria in sv Lovrec & the seafood restaurants at Limski Kanal are good. Church at Porec worth a visit.
Favourite villa moment: Early evening g & t watching the kids splashing in the pool. We will return to Croatia for sure!

Owners excellent, very helpful. Villa description says car recommended actually feel it should say essential. More draws for clothes in the bedrooms, hairdryer in each room.
Local reps very helpful. Explained best sights etc. we left some jewellery in the villa and they contacted us and have arranged to have it sent out to us.
Impressed with: Culture, sights
Not impressed with: Beaches
Recommend: Day trip to Venice a must. Village coffee bar good.
Favourite villa moment: BBQ evening good, pool good, everything made a great holiday.
