3 Bedroom Villa with Pool in Konavle near Dubrovnik, sleeps 6-8

  • 3 Bedroom Villa with Pool in Dubrovnik, sleeps 6-8

This attractive three bedroom villa is located in the Konavle valley in Dubrovnik region. With the mountains on one side and the sea on the other, this attractive area is abundant in vineyards and olive groves with many of the small villages maintaining old customs and their inhabitants still wearing traditional costumes. This area features some good restaurants, one of the most well known being Konavoski Dvori situated in a watermill near the waterfalls of the River Ljuta.

The villa is situated in the small village of Dubravka and guests enter the property via a side door from the village road and up onto the first floor where there is a terrace suitable for outdoor dining overlooking the pool and garden. Guests enter the villa, the indoor area of which is all located on one level, directly into a very spacious open plan lounge / dining area with double sofa-bed and which is decorated with traditional antique furniture from the region. To the right of the living room a door leads into a small corridor which on one side leads into a large, fully equipped country kitchen whilst on the opposite side there is a spacious family shower room. To the rear of the lounge there are two double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room. A twin bedroom is located at the front of the villa accessed from the lounge area. To the rear of the villa there is a BBQ area plus another outdoor dining table. From the main terrace, steps take guests down into the pool area which is bordered by a pretty well kept garden. Steps from the pool lead up into a lovely meadow which features an olive grove and a well stocked kitchen garden which guests can help themselves to during their stay.

Car hire is recommended. The villa would suit a family or group of friends looking to relax in peaceful surroundings whilst at the same time be within easy access of areas of interest. Attractions within the region include the historical towns of Dubrovnik and Cavtat, excursions to off shore islands such as Mljet and the Elaphite islands. A little further a field, day trips to Montenegro and Mostar are also possible and worth a visit.

The villa is ideal for people who don't want to be in the middle of the tourist trade, nestled in a hillside village you feel you are in real Croatia. The Villa is neat clean and private and begging across the road from the church means that you also enjoy the village rhythms. We were in Dubrovnik inside the hour and having coffee in Cavat inside 25 minutes. Perfect and I would return without hesitation

Excellent. Everything was perfect. The property is very nice, very quiet. A lovely garden and a manicured pool. The house is very spacious and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Everything is very clean.

The owner is really a great person. Very welcoming and very attentive. Always available. For proof, one of our children was sick and he even accompanied us to the hospital in Dubrovnik. It's just great to have that! Really we rarely met anyone as considerate in all our travels!

The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was wonderful. They arranged reservations for us at a local restaurant they recommended, were on the end of the phone if we needed anything and provided clean towels and pool cleaning half way through the week.

Impressed with: locals were all very friendly and happy to assist you in anything you needed
Not impressed with: Lots of bugs (mosquitoes, wasps, etc) unfortunately, but that can't be blamed on the country itself!
Recommend: A local restaurant recommended by the owners was cheap, pretty and served wonderful food. There is also a local castle, Castle Sokol, which is worth a look around.
Favourite villa moment: The views, especially at sunset, were incredible, and picking ripe figs off the tree in the garden felt like paradise.

Lovely house, tastefully furnished in a traditional style; in a quiet rural location high up over the beautiful Konavle valley. Great swimming pool, nice terrace to dine out on; peaceful; a great place for a holiday - but only an hour from Dubrovnik. The owner was lovely and very helpful - we had a couple of questions during the week and they were very responsive; and very friendly and welcoming.

      It was all lovely.

Impressed with: The climate; the scenery; the fact that all the infrastructure seemed to work seamlessly; and the people seemed to be very welcoming and easy-going.
Not impressed with: There was nothing that disappointed me.
Recommend: We really enjoyed the following: (1) See the folk dancing at Cillipi; (2) Boat trip from Cavtat to Dubrovnik for a day there (3) Restaurant Konavoski Dvori (4) KONOBA VINICA - LJUTA (5) visit to Prevlaka peninsula
Favourite villa moment: Spending afternoons by the pool; splashing around.

Everything was excellent. The property is delightful, comfortable and very clean, the pool is delightful, and the village is a very special place. The owner is very helpful and visits the property each day, cleans the pool and checks that everything is fine.We very much enjoyed our stay. Quiet and seems remote...although the nearest town is only 10 mins away.

There is a tree overhanging the steps down to the pool that could easily be walked into. This should be painted in high visibility paint or similar. Scissors would have been useful for food preparation

      Impressed with: Coastline
Not impressed with: Bombed out buildings are a sobering sight..
Recommend: Cavtat is a beautiful place to visit. A 'mini St Tropez'!
Favourite villa moment: Sitting under the fig trees by the pool!

The owners were very helpful. They left us some very delicious local cheese, ham, bread and wine when we arrived. As our flight was delayed they recommended and booked us into a local restaurant for dinner which again was very nice.

Impressed with: Everything. The people are so friendly and the food is so fresh and delicious. The view and sea are breathtaking.
Not impressed with: The main road from airport leading to the villa. There is road work on at the moment and we were in a traffic jam and it was really dusty.
Recommend:  We like all the restaurants in the area. We especially like Restoran Galija in Cavtat.
Favourite villa moment: Morning on the terrace having breakfast in the cold breeze and hearing the birds

We did ask for a cot but the owner had not been informed. But they were very good and found a cot immediately for us.  The only downside of the property was nothing the owners could have done anything about - the church bells ringing early every morning. We found the owners very friendly and helpful. They could not have done any more for us. They were very accommodating to us and let us stay a bit longer on the leaving day because of the baby. We will certainly recommend this property to our friends.

We would have liked to have gone to Cilipi but because we arrived late on the Saturday, we had forgotten it took place on Sunday morning. It would be quite helpful if clients could be sent a pdf before arriving at the villa so we could have made a note of what we wanted to do. We went to a lovely restaurant recommended by the owners and they also advised us not to drive into Dubrovnik but to catch the boat from Cavtat - which was ideal. Montenegro is only a short drive from the villa - so we drove there for the day - but make sure you take passports with you.

      Impressed with:   The people.
Not impressed with:  The church bells.
Favourite villa moment:  The pure serenity of the place.

Croatian Villas comment: Request for baby cot has been sent with the booking.

Excellent. Owner was most helpful, they were always willing to help, indicated locations to visit, ways to get there, were very nice

Impressed with: The vicinity between the mountains and typical forest vegetation and climate and the sea shore & typical Mediterranean vegetation & climate. Also the beautiful seashore
