Family Villas and Apartments in Croatia, Family Accommodations
Fantastic property with a very helpful and friendly owner. Extremely helpful.
Impressed with: The unspoilt coast.
Not impressed with: The food.
Recommend: Enjoy lazing in the bay.
Favourite villa moment: The lovely reception from the owner.
Stayed June 2017
The villa was located in a beautifully secluded bay and all the necessary equipment was provided. The owner was amazing kind and relaxed and even did 2 car journeys from Trogir to take me and my friends to the villa as we had no car. A meal had also been prepared for our arrival.
Impressed with: The water is so clear and the people are very kind and accommodating.
Recommend: Lanterna restaurant on the bay. It was delicious!! Also great for sunset cocktails.
Favourite Villa Moment: Having meals and relaxing on the large terraces with beautiful views. Doing little day trips on the fishing boat.
Stayed June 2016
Owner is great.
Impressed with: Ocean/Climate
Not impressed with: Presentation of towns
Recommend: Lanterna restaurant
Favourite villa moment: SwimmingStayed September 2015
The property was very well kept and in very good condition. The comments we would make is that the pictures did not fully give justice to how nice the property was.
The owner was very helpful when we arrived and during our stay. He provided us excellent travel tips, arranged boat rental with a local guide, and even provided us fresh fish which he prepared for us. He was in no way intruding, but available for us when we had questions.
Everything worked perfectly.
Impressed with: Friendliness of the people. Clear and fresh water. Low prices.
Not impressed with: Number of tourists and the heat in the larger cities.
Recommend: The next door coffee shop/bar is a natural choice with a great atmosphere. The local restaurants have good food and friendly service. To have something extra the best recommendation would be to rent a boat and go across to the isolated bay at Pakomina for some very good food and a a few hours on a perfect small beach there.
Favourite villa moment: The favorite with the kids is the pool area - a very nice pool and a beautiful area with very good sun beds. As for the adults the outdoor kitchen with a spacious dining area was the best - enjoying grilled fresh fish with some good wine was a perfect evening.Stayed July 2013
Owner was fantastically helpful, going to the trouble of showing us the best places to visit, shop for groceries, and local beaches.
Recommend:Boat trips to the islands are great.
Favourite villa moment: Lounging by the pool while the children had lots of fun playing in the pool/on the badminton court, or on the boules pitch.Stayed August 2013
The property was beautiful and the owners - very friendly and helpful. We'd love to go back. The property is secluded, large enough for a good group of people and the grounds of the property beautiful with the pool and gardens and a great view over the hills.
The property manager was very helpful. They helped up with taxis and airport transfers, and helped us book a great boat trip, which was the highlight of our stay.
It would be helpful if airport transfers could be booked with the agent at the time of booking the villa.
Impressed with: The scenery and very friendly people.
Not impressed with: I honestly have to say, I don't have any negative comments....
Recommend:Chartered boat trip to the Elaphiti Islands where we went to a beautiful restaurant on the water called Kod Marko. Dubrovnik old town. Cafe Buza in Durbovnik - cliff top bar.
Favourite villa moment: The poolside, in the sunshine with a great view over the hills. And showing us the family wine cellar!Stayed May 2013
(Property manager was) very helpful and overwhelmingly popular with everyone. One of our party likes to have a bath and it was unfortunate that there was not a bathroom in the house.
Impressed with: Coastline and people.
Not impressed with: Everyone wants to be paid in cash which is Stone Age behaviour !
Recommend:Nautika (restaurant) was good and renting a speed boat worked well for a visit to the islands.
Favourite villa moment: BBQs at the villa were fun and the catered event that the property manager arranged was spot on.Stayed May 2013
The villa was amazing and just like the pictures. It was in a beautiful location and was well equipped with all kitchen utensils. It was spacious and only a short taxi ride to the old town. We would definitely recommend a stay here - you will not be disappointed.
The owners were great and were very helpful. They helped us with our luggage and were contactable if we had any questions. They were very friendly and we had a dinner cooked by them which was amazing. They were also very flexible regarding our check in time and let us check in early and check out later. Thank you!
One thing to mention is that it is better to contact the owner directly rather through Croatian villas if you want a flexible check in time. We did not find Croatian villas useful or helpful in this respect.
Impressed with: The beautiful scenery
Recommend:The old town is a short taxi ride away. A walk to Lapad beach area is also very nice.Croatian Villas comment about check in time: The check in time can only be varied by the property manager. Any variation to check in / check out time will depend on previous guests check out time / next guests check in time. So e.g 2 weeks before you arrive, the villa may show unoccupied the day before your arrival, however a last minute booking could come in which could occupy the day before your arrival. This is the reason Croatian Villas can only recommend you contact the property directly the day before or on the day of your arrival to request an earlier check in. Same situation applies to check out time.

While the house was nice, we hired the villa because of the private heated pool advertised on your website. When we got there, the pool was not heated, but worse, it was filled with muddy water, was absolutely filthy. The owners were also very unfriendly and the villa was furnished with a meager supply of dishes and glassware. The pots and pans were also too small for a villa advertised to sleep 8-10.
Stayed April 2012
Villa Comment: When you arrived there had been terrible weather/storms and even floods in Dubrovnik, most unseasonal, which had caused havoc with the pool. The owners offered you immediately a 20% discount because of this and this was something you accepted. Amount of dishes and glassware is sufficient for up to 12 persons.
On the same day it was realised that more people were going to stay at the house (11/12 in total) than the official capacity (10). In view of this the owners offered you the following choice:
1. Additional unregistered guests must leave the Villa
2. The additional guests could stay at the Villa at the original price so without the 20% discount.
Option 2 was accepted.
We had an excellent stay and really enjoyed every minute of our stay. Villa was beautiful. Details were all very clear. The only negative was that the wifi didn't work properly in the upper apartment. The owners were very responsive -- we had a problem with the air conditioner in the main bedroom and the son, came out on a Sunday evening at 8.30pm to fix it. Very nice and warm people who went the extra mile for us.
Impressed with: Cost, people and the scenery and beaches.
Not impressed with: Roads very run down and a little bit chaotic during peak season.
Recommend: The bar on the beach has good local food and easy to get to from the apartment. (not suitable for disabled people though). If you're in Omis during July go to the Acapella Concert -- men and women from all over Dalmatia compete --really impressive and unique.
Favourite villa moment: Sitting on the balcony early in the morning sipping coffee and admiring the view :-)
Stayed July 2015
Caretaker was friendly and helpful. I liked that you offered excursions and other things. It is good that you warned about the difficult drive way.
Impressed with: Definitely the national park with the lakes and waterfalls. Was spectacular, one of the best things we've seen in our lives!
Recommend: We liked rafting in Cetina -river, and pirate ruins in Omis. Restaurant by Cetina was also nice.
Favourite villa moment: Eating out in a terrace in the evening and swimming and snorkling in the sea.Stayed June 2013
The website needs to say that it has wi-fi. It also would have been helpful to have an address so that we could have used our GPS navigation.
It worked out well for us but getting to the property down the steep driveway in our big van was very difficult, and we scraped the side trying to get into the parking space. It took some getting used to maneuver the van in and out of the property. That was the biggest problem. The website should let people know that a small vehicle is best to use. Also the house is well equipped, but kitchen needs dish towels.
Caretaker was there to greet us and guide us down or we would have never found it. But once inside she helped us a lot and served us refreshments. She also gave us her phone number and email so that if we needed anything she was available.
Impressed with: Definitely the national park with the lakes and waterfalls. Was spectacular, one of the best things we've seen in our lives!
Not impressed with: Love the beauty - but the people are not too friendly.
Recommend: The little restaurant called Espana just down the road was good food and very nice to us. We didn't realize they didn't take credit cards and we didn't have enough Kuna to pay for our meal (there were 8 of us)! So the owner said, no problem, you can come back tomorrow and pay me! He was kind and trusted us! So that is what we did. We recommend to go there!
Favourite villa moment: We are 8 people who enjoy to be together, so our favorite moments were having meals on the deck, enjoying the view, sipping wine, talking, and watching the sunsets! Also enjoyed walks along the shore and swimming in the Adriatic!Villa Comments: I know about the road but unfortunately we cannot change it although it certainly was a big van. A normal car has no problem. About the kitchen towels they should have asked me. I will make sure more are added.

Everything was perfect. Best choice for what we looked for. It is a true gem! Located in a very cozy area with wonderful access to the beach.
Owner was a big help for us when arriving in Croatia, giving us directions on where to go and was a very friendly host.
Impressed with: The color of the sea
Recommend: Bol is a charming little city and you can enjoy a nice diner in Milna at the Marina
Favourite villa moment: Everything. Everything was perfect
Stayed September 2016
The villa's location was absolutely perfect and secluded. The villa was beautiful and equipped we everything we needed. However, the internet connection was almost non-existent which made it very difficult for even the simplest tasks, such as checking our email or browsing.
The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant.
Better driving instructions for the villa. For example the mileage from Milna to the house would have been helpful, as well as better explanation of how to find the property. In the end we managed, but it was not very easy.
Impressed with: The beauty.
Not impressed with: The lack of aesthetics and details when it comes to new buildings and houses. There were a lot of bees and flies which often made it hard to enjoy our outdoor meals.
Recommend: The nearest town Milna was charming. Bol was another nice town to visit. Konoba Kopacina in Donji Humac was the best restaurant we tried.
Favourite villa moment: There were a few: going for an early morning swim in front of the house. We liked having cocktails on the deck before sunset with a beautiful view of the bay.Villa Comments: The internet is good enough for e-mail and in general guests are satisfied with the internet connection. Up till now we have no problem whatsoever with receiving or sending e- mails. We are sorry guests experienced problems although we do recommend if guests are finding internet connection very slow they let us know and we can take a look and see what the problem is.

I recently stayed at this beautiful villa near Milna (on the island of Brac) with my family of 4 and another couple of friends with 2 young children. The villa met my expectations in every way: the main house is nicely designed and has 3 bedrooms (the master bedroom is huge!) and air conditioning throughout. There is an annexed cottage (very nicely and recently renovated) where my teenager children slept more than comfortably (it has a bathroom and air conditioning as well!). In the main house, there is a large kitchen with a big wood burning oven, so we enjoyed grilled meals every day.
During the day, we all had fun in the reasonably sized swimming pool which is surrounded by trees and flowers: overall, the grounds are lovely landscaped and nicely manicured. But if that is not enough, there is also a beautiful semi-private beach accessible directly from the property.
At night, we ate outdoor in the gorgeous patio overlooking the bay, but our favorite area was the additional elevated, covered terrace where we had drinks and appetizers while admiring the wonderful landscape of the island. The location is just perfect!
Finally, the property owner, is attentive and courteous: her charm is just the final cherry to the cake! I have already recommended this property to other friends and family.

Our group had a wonderful visit to Dubrovnik. The villa was in a fantastic location in walking distance from the town. Lovely outside area, overhanging vines and beautiful pool area. Fantastic for families or larger groups. The owner of the property was very helpful.
Impressed with: Beautiful countryside, lots of villages close by and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Croatia very friendly
Recommend: Too many to recommend however lunch or dinner at Panorama restaurant gives you amazing views over the city and even though we went at lunch time there was a lovely breeze at the top.
We also had a lovely dinner at Orsan in the marina.
Favourite villa moment: Dinners cooked on the outside BBQ overlooking the pool .... many a time was spent relaxing in the late afternoons after mornings sightseeing in the town

We stayed at this villa in Dubrovnik. Our experience exceeded what we imagined. The house, the service from arrival till departure was excellent! Very helpful, service minded. Cheaper for our group than hotel, more fun!
We order transport to the airport and that service worked out good!
Impressed with: The beautiful surroundings
Recommend: Sesame Tavern Poklisar Renting moped & Jet Ski

The house and the location were fine. Excellent. Some traffic noise, but again very close to the city, so we anticipated that. The owner where very helpful and nice
Impressed with: A lot
Not impressed with: Not so much
Favourite villa moment: Fantastic pool area for the kids (and the rest of us). Beautiful lighting in the evening. The day we had on the beach were wonderful. The walls were marvelous. We ate lunch a different restaurants with the whole family. Do not remember names, it was all very nice.

This is a wonderful place and combines rustic Istrian charm with modern 5* living. We were fortunate enough to have found this magical place to host our families, friends and wedding. Secluded enough to be private, central enough to be easily found, this villa and Istria will play a large part of our lives to come.
The owner was accommodating, friendly and helpful beyond belief. He made us and our families so at home. We could not have asked for a better host. His advice and knowledge of the area, food, wine etc was impeccable. This made it very difficult to leave.
Impressed with: The friendly people and the high quality of food and wine.
Not impressed with: Not many (if any) sandy beaches... although we knew that already!
Recommend: The town of Groznjan is a short drive away and is home to arts, music and has beautiful vistas. We would recommend restaurant Bastilla, which serves some of the finest food we have eaten.
Favourite villa moment: So many... Barbecueing throughout day and night Ping pong by the gorgeous pool Preparing for our wedding Nights by the fire-pit Ad-hoc football on the huge field 5 star luxury all to ourselves Drinking good, local wine into the night on the gorgeous terrace This Villa was made for favourite moments.

Excellent. Everything perfect.
Impressed with: Nature, architect, friendly people, food.
Stayed July/August 2012
All was lovely but a few very minor points: Kitchen - Tin opener, scissors, matches. Pool: soft covers for the sunbeds. It was a truly lovely property that ensured a very good holiday.
Owners were fantastic. Lovely people and great ambassadors for their Country.
Impressed with: The natural beauty of the place.
Not impressed with: The border crossings to Montenegro.
Recommend: The restaurant on the premises was excellent. Cavtat was a little treasure, and the boat transfer to Dubrovnik from here is a lovely way to enter this beautiful City, especially for your first visit.
Favourite villa moment: Dinner from the hosts.Stayed August 2013
The villa was fantastic - it was a great layout and was beautifully finished. I cannot think of anything that was missing. We hired a car and that worked out very well. It was a great service
Impressed with: It is a beautiful country with nice people, great food and lots to do.
Not impressed with: Nothing comes to mind
Recommend: There is a lot to do in and around Dubrovnik.
Favourite villa moment: Swimming with my kids in the pool.Stayed June 2014
Property itself was lovely and suited our needs but the area in which it was located was a little run down, close to a rundown area of blocks of flats and lots of graffiti.
Owner was very helpful and allowed us to stay an extra 2 hours on check out day despite new holiday makers arriving the same day
Impressed with: Lovely friendly people and low cost of eating out
Not impressed with:
Recommend: Rented a private powerboat through Waterworld Croatia with Peter and had the most amazing days with him Would thoroughly recommend him.
Favourite villa moment: Powerboat with Waterworld Croatia based in Split
Stayed September 2015
Good-Excellent. The wifi stopped working day 2 which was somewhat annoying
Recommend: Boat trip to Trogir (as opposed to walking in the heat on the roads without side walks)
Favourite villa moment: Poolside with the kids
Stayed July 2015
Villa Comments: The problem with the WiFi was due to the internet provider. It was corrected within a day.
Good-Excellent. Garbage disposal was not that well organized or at least not communicated very well. And as a hint; I don't recommend leaving the garbage bags outside, even inside the property walls - the animals will find them...
Impressed with: The weather, the people (and the service culture), the sea and the beaches. And the villa was better than we expected - it really was like in the pictures! Usually the pictures make them look better.
Not impressed with: There really isn't anything, or them we just didn't come by any "bad" things.
Recommend: T.R.S. restaurant (in Trogir) was very nice. - Bura Line between Trogir and Split was handy. - Trip by rented cars to Krka
Favourite villa moment: The pool was very nice, especially for the children, although they were pretty young. - You were able to organize a chef and it was great! I can highly recommend him (Stanko Kolic) for others staying in the villa. But you should also know, that the cost was like three times more what we expected, but then again, so was the quality of the food. He charged 200€ for the service (we agreed 150€, but he said that he needed a helper, so it was 50€ more) and he charged the food by person and by course. Meaning, that he also had quite a profit in the food as well, and not just for the service. Before hand we thought he would just bring the receipt from the groceries that we would pay for him + the 200€ service. In the end the total cost was 750 for nine people... He said that the fish we had was very expensive. But as I said, the dishes were great and so we also booked him for another night - this time I negotiated the price before. But although I was pretty clear on the expense: "The total cost of the service and the food should not be more than 400€. Can we agree on this?" -> "Yes". Well, the bill for the other dinner (for ten people) was 660€... We didn't want to start a fight about it (or even mention the issue for him), not least of all because there was a small language wall, but also because we didn't want to ruin our own holiday mood. The cost it self wasn't the problem, it was more a matter of principle. Well, long story short. The chef was great, but expensive.Stayed June 2013
Great location and wonderful views. Would go back again.

Our experience with your company was fantastic. The Hvar Villa was lovely and had everything except a laundry room which would be very helpful for a family our size. The staff were delightful and difficult to say goodbye to after three weeks. I would recommend Hvar to anyone, any age. We were 20 to 82 and I am not sure what age group enjoyed it the most.
Stayed June/July 2015
I want to let Croatian Villas know how extremely happy we were with the Villa ....It was absolutely fantastic. Caretaker is fantastic!!! Thank you for making a dream vacation for us. I am a travel agent in New York and I will use you again and recommend you to my clients!!
Stayed September 2011
Cleanliness was excellent; however, we would have preferred to have had the bed sheets changed every day or every other day (instead of once a week I think). Impressed with The genuine friendliness of the local people working in the service business there. We had a truly great vacation.
Stayed July 2011
Suitable for our needs. Would return to the property if we required group travel accommodation Land line for telephone was not working. Beautiful country. Relax and enjoy
Impressed with: Beauty of the country and Adriatic coast.
Not impressed with: Bank services not readily available.
Recommend: Bar Nautica
Favourite villa moment: Enjoying breakfast and sunsets on the terrace. The entire first floor was enjoyed by all.
Stayed September 2015
Good selection of villas, in Telegraph travel article. The description of the location is rather misleading- it was much further uphill on a dirt track than expected. Villa offered great service.
Impressed with: People, service, great coastline
Stayed August 2016
Excellent. The facilities were great although a washing machine would have been handy! :-) I assumed there would be one so packed light but not the end of the world. The WiFi could not be picked up in apartment 2 and only in the window of the sitting room in apartment 1
Impressed with: The clean water.
Not impressed with: The food.... I was hoping for a bit more authentic food. It was quite bland and salty and the fish was very expensive. Most food consisted of Pizza or food off the grill.
Recommend: Trip to Hercules was worth it to see the old Roman Mine. All the restaurants were lovely and everyone was really friendly and welcoming.
Favourite villa moment: Having al fresco meals with the stunning harbour view and buzz from restaurant.Stayed July 2014
Excellent. Very good.
