Accommodation Croatia: Tourism grows 3%

Individual tourists are crucial to the country, according to the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ).

Niko Bulic, director of the organisation, told javno.com there has been overall growth of three per cent in the number of visitors to the country so far this month.

The news provider suggested Croatia, as well as Italy, will be a "hit destination" this summer, particularly with regard to individual tourism.

Mr Bulic said Dalmatia has so far recorded positive tourism results over the summer and that the German, Italian and Slovenian markets will be important to the industry.

He continued: "July has a rate of a night's accommodation of 30 per cent and August of 32 per cent on the overall night's accommodation in Croatia.

"This means that now we are in the key period as the main wave of tourism is ahead of us."

It was claimed recently by carrentals.co.uk that July and August are likely to be the most popular months of the year for people visiting Croatia.
