Architecture exhibition lays ground in Zagreb
01 April 2009A major architecture event showcasing the talents of new, young industry professionals has opened in Zagreb.
From March 30th, the Young Viennese Architects show, or Y.O.V.A 2, has been running at the capital's Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences.
As part of the exhibition, 12 structures designed by some of the Austrian capital's up-and-coming industry talent will be on display.
The mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandic, was on hand to open the showcase and stated that it was an opportunity for architects from both cities to engage and exchange cultural ideas on design, the Croatian Times reported.
Visitors to the city may also want to soak up some other attractions Zagreb has to offer, including the Croatian Natural History Museum and the shops and bars surrounding Ban Jelacic Square.
Statistics recently published by Companiesandmarkets.com showed that Croatia saw a 2.6 per cent rise in tourist numbers in the first eight months of last year.
