Art exhibition to tempt tourists to Zagreb

The time may be right for art lovers to take a Croatian holiday, with the Iconography of a City exhibition now underway in Zagreb.

More than 200 of the greatest paintings by Croatian artists are now on display in the capital, the Zagreb Tourist Board states, where they will remain until April 4th.

The theme of the depictions is an urban setting and lifestyle, with facilities in Croatia's towns and cities often drawn upon for inspiration.

Motifs and images are captured in a range of oil paintings and graphic drawings which may interest any art fan looking for the perfect holiday destination.

Also included in the exhibition are a number of smaller pieces - such as postcards and posters - showing urban life.

Iconography of a City is just the latest in a line of art displays to take place in Zagreb recently, following the announcement of a street art exhibition and the commencement of The World Around Us show.
