Athletes "back in training" after crash
14 August 2008Three Croatian Olympic athletes are back training after being involved in a bus crash, according to a source.
A collision between a private van and the bus carrying athletes and officials resulted in the death of two people onboard the bus.
Three members of the Croatian rowing team were among those on the Olympic vehicle, but they have now returned to training, reports xinhuanet.com
A police spokesperson told the website: "The accident did not affect the athletes' schedule."
He added they had returned to competition preparation immediately after being treated for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the Croatian men's handball squad are still in contention to travel back to Zagreb as champions after a 33-14 win over Brazil.
The competitors, who last week claimed a narrow 31-29 victory over Spain, will now face group A leaders France later today.
Elsewhere, the country's basketball team are also in action today as they take on Argentina.
