Austrian music fans set to flock to Croatia
15 May 2008A lack of big-name performers on the domestic scene is leading Austrian music fans to head to nearby countries like Croatia for their summer festival fix, it has been revealed.
With most countries in Europe having a range of international acts in their festival line-ups, disappointed gig goers have decided to head to neighbouring nations, Austrian news provider Weiner Zeitung reports.
The Radar Festival in north-east Croatia is set to tempt many with a wide selection of acts announced.
Singer-songwriter Bob Dylan is headlining the concert in Varazdin city stadium at his only Balkans venue while on tour.
Welsh rockers The Manic Street Preachers are also on the bill, which includes performers from around the world.
The event will take place on June 13th and tickets cost 290 kuna (£31) if bought before the day of the concert.
Madonna also looks likely to play in the region, with a concert on Jaz beach in Montenegro thought to be in the pipeline.
