Autumn holiday in Croatian capital 'is increasingly popular'
12 October 2010The number of people taking a holiday in the Croatian capital city of Zagreb was up in September compared with figures for the same month in 2009.
Statistics revealed by the Croatian National Tourist Board show the destination welcomed ten per cent more visitors during the 30-day period, while the amount of overnight stays was up by 13 per cent, reports the Croatian Times.
In total, 71,100 people arrived in Zagreb and 122,000 nights were spent in the city.
The capital's results for September mirror those found on the Dalmatian coast, where there has also been a rise in tourists.
Of those to have travelled to Zagreb in the month, some 58,000 were from overseas, which is a rise of 11 per cent, the newspaper suggests.
Balkans.com recently reported the number of passengers going through all of the country's major airports has recently increased, with extra guests stopping in Dubrovnik, Split and Zagreb.
