Bat event open to holidaymakers in Croatia
25 August 2010Travellers to Croatia staying in or close to the capital of Zagreb this weekend may find themselves in the right place to enjoy a bat festival.
For the fifth year in a row, Zagreb Zoo is holding a European Bat Night, featuring a rich mix of education and fun.
Taking place between 18:00 and 22:00 local time on Saturday (August 28th), the event offers visitors the chance to take a closer look at the fascinating creatures, as well as being entertained by a concert, jugglers and a magician.
Holidaymakers in Croatia could go the extra mile and take up the zoo's invitation to wear fancy dress, turning up as a bat, vampire or witch.
A professional guide will lead visitors on a bat discovery walk, where bat detectors will be used.
Zagreb Zoo is home to a range of interesting animals, such as a miniature hippopotamus and a variety of monkeys.
