Bay of Kotor one of Montenegro's 'hidden delights'
06 April 2009The stunning Bay of Kotor is one of Montenegro's "hidden delights", according to a respected travel journalist.
Penning his wisdom in the Daily Mail, Chris Leadbeater described a recent visit to the tiny, former Yugoslav nation, which he evidently found both alluring and exciting in equal measures.
Among the destination's attractions, according to Mr Leadbeater, are its convenient location nestled between several other Balkan states and its array of beautiful beaches, cove and headlands.
During his trip to the bay itself, he wrote: "It is hard to decide which element of the narrow sea channel is the most picturesque.
"Maybe it is the sun-sparkle flashes that dance on the surface, or perhaps the mountains that plunge down to the water on both left and right."
Mr Leadbeater wrote that the area's "orange roofs" held a similar charm to those seen in Dubrovnik, while the "odd tiny church or ruined cottage" echoed of Kefalonia.
Last week, Vijesti reported that Tivat's new tourist destination, the marina Porto Montenegro, was on track for completion in June this year.
