Beaches of Croatia 'attract the cream of Hollywood'

Some of Hollywood's biggest names are known to be fans of taking a holiday in Croatia and spending time on the country's beaches.

Cheapflights.ca, which recently compiled its top ten seaside spots for meeting a celebrity, noted the likes of Steven Spielberg and Robert de Niro have soaked up sun on the Dalmatian coast.

And Gwyneth Paltrow is another to have been spotted on the sandy shores of the Adriatic Sea.

Explaining the popularity of Croatia among the rich and famous, the website stated: "The tourist board bills it 'the Mediterranean as it once was' [and] there are more than 1,000 islands dotted about the Adriatic Sea, offering seclusion and paparazzi-free zones."

Eva Longoria and husband Tony Parker have spent time in Croatia in the last few weeks, travelling between historic towns such as Sibenik and Dubrovnik.

Earlier this year, Gerard Butler was photographed in Dubrovnik after filming for his latest movie in the area.
