Beauty of Dubrovnik holiday highlighted by traveller
28 June 2010A traveller has detailed her holiday in Dubrovik, including a description of the quaint streets and beautiful weather that lie in wait for those who visit.
Morelle Smith, writing for Balkan Travellers, said Dubrovnik's old town is a highlight of any trip to the southern Croatian city.
She explains how her first sighting of the area was dominated by the red rooftops and golden pavements glowing in the early-evening sun.
"The sunlit stones gleamed as if they'd been polished," she explained, before adding the buildings seemed to glow in the brightness.
Ms Smith also told how the city is built up of an intricate network of alleyways and historic paths featuring restaurants, cafes and shops, with many routes including small steps that lead up from the sea.
