'Best in classical music' coming to Zagreb
15 April 2009A celebration of the best Croatia has to offer in classical music is to take place in Zagreb later this month.
From April 17th to 26th, visitors to the nation's capital will be offered a series of aural treats at the Music Biennale Zagreb, which in the past has seen contributions from Igor Stravinsky and Luciano Berio.
Held in a variety of venues across Zagreb, this year's festival programme will feature performances by acclaimed composers such as Ivana Bilic and Franz Peter Cibulka.
A spokesperson for the festival noted: "The modern-day Biennale has been defined both by its tradition and by its beginnings as well as by the position in its own community and on the international music scene.
"More importantly, the interest in the Beinnale and composers' efforts do not cease."
Music lovers may also be interested in Zagreb's upcoming festival INmusic, which will feature modern pop and rock acts such as Lily Allen, Kraftwerk and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
