Boat show set to entertain Dubrovnik holidaymakers
12 April 2010Marine lovers pondering their next winter getaway should be pleased to learn that Dubrovnik is set to launch its own boat show.
The southern Croatian city will get its own fair - entitled the Winter Boat Show - between Christmas and new year, according to a report by the Croatian Times.
It could help to draw visitors to the ancient city, where a trip to the event may be combined with a walk around the historic walls or picturesque mountains nearby.
"By launching a boat show in Dubrovnik we would like to enrich the tourist offer in the city," organiser Vicenco Blagaic tells the newspaper.
He adds the Dubrovnik exhibition will use much of the same equipment as the Croatia Boat Show, which is one of the largest in Europe.
The country's national event is currently underway in Split, where it runs until April 18th, featuring boats and a selection of other motor vehicles.
