Book Croatia holiday to enjoy ancient Roman football match

The town of Trilj, slightly inland from the Dalmatian coastline, is set to host a series of ancient Roman football games on Saturday (May 29th), the Croatian Times reports.
Players will be wearing authentic period costumes and the tussles will see Delmati and Romans battle it out for honours.
In addition, the emperor Diocletian and his wife will be on hand to preside over the event, while Roman centurions are in line to prove security, the newspaper explains.
Such an unusual and historic battle may attract tourists with an interest in the past from across Europe.
Many may wish to spend their break in a Croatian villa close to the picturesque views of the Adriatic Sea.
