Book Croatia holiday to enjoy theatre festival

Theatre lovers looking for a late spring break may find all they wish for in a Croatia holiday this weekend.

Starting on Saturday (May 1st) and running for three days, the Days of Hvar Theatre festival features numerous plays performed on one of Croatia's most popular islands.

It takes place mainly at the old Hvar Theatre, although acts can also be observed at other locations.

The common trend linking all of the works on offer is their initial writing was completed by a Croatian playwright.

Of course, travellers who take a Hvar holiday are not limited only to watching scenes from some of Croatia's top productions, as such a trip is also an opportunity to soak up some pre-summer rays on the island's unspoilt beaches.

"The sun [is] just an additional motive for you to learn more about the literature of a people that have many things to write about," states the Croatian National Tourist Board.
