Book holiday in Dubrovnik this Christmas for magic and sparkle
23 November 2010Tourists who take a holiday in Dubrovnik over the upcoming Christmas period will enjoy a magical experience, the city's tourism board promises.
The resort, located in the south of Croatia, is hosting its traditional Christmas Fair throughout December from St Nicolas's Day to Epiphany.
Holidaymakers will have the chance to browse and buy a wealth of homemade creations, arts and crafts – all in traditional Croatian styles.
Ornaments, candles and pottery will all be on the agenda for those who take a look at the intricate designs created by the locals.
And caterers have been called in to provide beautiful dishes that originate in and around Dubrovnik, including Christmas cookies, various cheeses and doughnuts.
The fair may be the perfect accompaniment to a tour of the city's sights, such as its medieval walls, for those on holiday in Dubrovnik.
Another highlight for some is the cable car that links the Old Town area and the summit of the neighbouring Mount Srd, offering great views across the resort and the Adriatic Sea.
