Book last-minute flights to Croatia and enjoy speedway grand prix
26 August 2010Fans of motorsport may be advised to book a last-minute holiday in Croatia and take in the country's speedway grand prix this weekend.
The Speedway Stadium Millennium in Donji Kralkevec, which was built in 2005, is set to host the thrilling race on Saturday (August 28th).
At 305 metres long and with a capacity of 9,000, the venue could be considered by many to be worthy of staging such an event.
But in order to hear every rev of the engines and witness all the overtaking live fans will have to book a stay in Croatia soon.
Although the track has hosted 23 previous speedway meetings, this is its first grand prix – perhaps vindicating the investment made by Croatian entrepreneur and ex-speedway racer Zvonimir Pavlic when he built the complex.
Spectators are advised the nearest airport to the Speedway Stadium Millennium is in Zagreb, which is approximately 100 kilometres away.
The race will only add to what is already a prestigious weekend of motorsport, with Formula 1 returning at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
