British visits to Croatia could remain popular
27 October 2009Summer holidays in Croatia could remain as popular as ever, if the latest American Express Global Foreign Exchange Services Currency Index is to be believed.
The index reveals that sun holidays are still being booked at the same rate as in 2008, despite the credit crunch.
Terry Perrin, director of trading and business development at American Express, said: "Despite the tightening of purse strings up and down the country, Brits were just not prepared to forgo their annual summer holiday."
And foreign currency - which could include Croatian kunas - is also selling as well as it was a year ago.
With Britons seemingly refusing to give up their summer holiday, many may wish to consider a trip to Croatia where a favourable exchange rate can mean tourists get great value for money on the sun-drenched Adriatic coast.
It was reported last week that travellers could be choosing holidays in Croatia in a bid to beat the credit crunch.
