Cash-strapped families could share Croatia holiday
15 October 2010Parents without enough cash to afford a holiday in Croatia of their own this winter could follow a national trend and share it with another family.
Research by Post Office Travel Insurance shows half of Britons are planning to head away during the October half-term break, with almost two-thirds of potential holidaymakers prepared to consider the possibility of sharing their break.
Although there are sometimes concerns, such as other people's children behaving well and a clash of opinions over holiday activities, these can be worked around to save money.
Rachel Croft, head of Post Office Travel Insurance, said: "With budgets being stretched and many of us time poor, taking a group holiday can be a good way to save money and spend time with loved ones."
Among the most popular spots in Croatia are likely to be the warm, historic and picturesque resorts of Dubrovnik, Zadar and Split.
Balkans.com recently reported that Croatia is enjoying a surge in visitor numbers this year, with all major airports welcoming more passengers than in 2009.
