Charity concert may have been enjoyed by travellers in Croatia

Travellers currently enjoying a Croatian holiday may have attended a charity concert last night (December 30th), at which a host of Croatian singers performed.

The event was held in the indoor hall at Zagreb Arena in aid of Croatian table-tennis star Sandra Paovic who suffered a serious spinal injury in a car accident earlier this year, reports the Croatian Times.

A similar event was held in April and raised 20 million kunas (£243,000) to fund Ms Paovic's treatment.

Music icons including Vanna, Tony Cetinski, Nina Badric, Massimo, Boris Novkovic and Aki Rahimovski sung in support of the 2008 Olympian, the newspaper states.

The audience may have included a number of people currently enjoying the new year festivities in a Croatian villa or waterfront property.

Travel advice site Guide2Croatia last week stated that people heading to the Balkan country to see in 2010 are "guaranteed" a great party.
