Charity volunteer set for Croatian trek
22 May 2008A charity fundraiser from the UK is set for a trekking expedition in Croatia in September, it has been revealed.
Stamford and the Deepings WeightWatchers leader Zoey Dilley is looking to raise money for British Heart Foundation, reports the Evening Telegraph.
The 37-year-old has already raised £10,000 by trekking in the French Alps, along the Amalfi Coast and in Santiago de Compostela, as well as staging tombolas in her area.
She has received a certificate of appreciation for her efforts but is to continue her fundraising activities.
Robert Cowburn, a 25-year-old father of two, will hope to set an example to Ms Dilley as he prepares to embark on a cycle trek across Europe in August.
Starting off in Geneva, he will take in 15 countries, including Croatia, before ending his 2,000 mile trip in Istanbul in Turkey.
Mr Cowburn will be raising money for NSPCC, the children's charity.
