Che Guevera exhibition arrives in Rijeka
02 February 2009An exhibition dedicated to the 20th century revolutionary Che Guevara has arrived in the Croatian costal resort of Rijeka.
Featuring around 30 photographs of the celebrated Argentinean freedom fighter, its turn in the Adriatic town marks the first time the attraction has left its home in neighbouring Slovenia, the Croatian Times reported.
Entitled El Che - Testimony by the Guevara Family, the exhibition also includes a number of letters written by the influential political theorist - some of which are on show to the public for the first time.
Unknown to most, Rijeka has a strong tie with Guevara, who was captured on film by local photographer Petar Cuce Grabovac, as he spent time in the area during the late 1950s.
Much of the material was provided by the Guevara family, and has previously only been shown in Kopar, Slovenia.
The exhibition began at the end of January and will run at the town's Filodramaticca gallery until February 19th.
