Christmas bazaar coming to Split
29 October 2009Good-willed Britons may want to head for Split in December to enjoy the city's humanitarian Christmas bazaar.
The aim of the event - which has the motto Where Are You? - is to collect money for those who need it most, reports the Croatian Times.
Charitable organisation Most is organising the bazaar in conjunction with Split authorities and is inviting all residents and tourists to bring any items they can spare with them.
Old CDs, books and jewellery could all be sold at a profit to help those in trouble.
But holidaymakers in the Croatian city may see the charity event as an opportunity to get into the festive spirit with a traditional Balkan bazaar.
The money-raising sale will take place in the town centre on December 12th.
Tourists considering a trip to the bazaar may wish to combine it with a charity concert in Zagreb later that week at which opera legend Jose Carreras will sing.
