Classical concert may be reason to book Dubrovnik holiday

Holidaymakers looking for a last-minute break this week may wish to consider Dubrovnik, where a classical concert is due to be performed.

The closing concert by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will take place on Wednesday (August 25th), led by renowned conductor Ivan Repusic.

He will be joined by guest pianist Denis Kozhukhin, as well as regular musicians such as cellist Luka Sulic, violist Marin Maras and Marija Kuhar Sosa, a highly skilled soprano.

The cast will show off their music in an evening performance outside the ancient city's famous St Blaise Church, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board states.

Fans of classical music and those who simply long for some late summer sun could be among the crowd, which is likely to be considerable.

Other attractions to enjoy while on holiday in Dubrovnik include the city's historic walls, a new cable car that transports visitors up neighbouring Mount Srdj and picturesque beaches.
