Conditions in place for ski holidays in Croatia
15 December 2010The freezing conditions that have been common in some parts of Croatia over recent weeks look set to continue into the weekend, perhaps making it the ideal time to take a skiing holiday in the country.
Meteorologists are predicting temperatures will plummet once more, leading thermometers to show figures as low as -15 degrees C, the Croatian Times reports Jutarnji List as stating.
Early mornings are said to be the most likely times for extreme cold, but the country is unlikely to be warmer than zero degrees at any time.
And the best news for those planning a ski holiday is likely to be the forecast for plenty more snow, leading to covered slopes.
Tourists may consider Croatia to be a particularly affordable and underrated winter sports break destination, with both skiing and snowboarding venues found in the nation.
A report by Vecernji List, cited by the Croatian Times earlier this month, suggested wintry conditions were already taking hold in the Balkans.
