Croatia accommodation could house bargain seekers this winter

More people are set to become disillusioned with the price of skiing in traditional resorts and opt for less-established spots – such as Croatia – this winter.

Gareth Williams, co-founder of flight comparison site Skyscanner, explains many Britons will be working with a reduced amount of cash when it comes to booking a break this winter.

Such an instance could be good news for resorts such as Croatia, where winter sports may be considered by some to be a relatively new lure.

However, its great value for money standing in travel circles could pay dividends, as bargain hunters choose to forego their trip to France or Italy and instead visit the country.

"Tight holiday budgets will lead skiers and snowboarders to leapfrog traditional favourites in the Alps for better value ski resorts in eastern Europe," explains Mr Williams.

A report by Vecernji List, cited by the Croatian Times, suggests the weather is soon to be ideal for the pursuit, with temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius expected this weekend.
