Croatia accommodation is the goal for banger racers
20 August 2010Four banger racers from Scotland will have accommodation in Croatia on their minds when they set out on an epic journey next May.
While flights to Croatia are the popular choice among most holidaymakers, the group aim to arrive at their lodgings in Split by road.
Thomas Callaghan, Frank Wilson, John Connell and Steven Young are taking place in the Sucata Split Rally, reports the Lennox Herald.
The challenge of the event is to buy a vehicle for less than £250 and make it all the way to the Dalmatian coast – something the four will be attempting to do from Dumbarton.
Competitors are assured of a "huge party" in the coastal resort once they arrive, the newspaper explains.
They will be heading to Croatia on a 6,000-mile route in a Renault Espace bought recently for £200.
After so much time, it could be that the team opt for easyJet's budget service between Split and the UK in order to get home in a fraction of the time.
