Croatia could appeal to luxury travellers
01 December 2009Luxury travellers may wish to consider Croatia as the destination of their next top-quality overseas excursion.
New research by the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) has revealed that Britons are prepared to continue spending on luxury holidays despite the credit crunch.
Kate Kenward, executive director at AITO, said: "The word luxury can mean a lot of different things. Not only the meaning we have known in the past, I think it is the luxury of going to a destination where many people may not be able to go to."
Croatia could be ideal for tourists seeking luxury as it offers a string of high-class hotels and villas, particularly along its Dalmatian coast.
A study by Thomas Cook last week concluded that British holidaymakers are intent on having a break in 2010.
Visiting Croatia could offer not only luxury accommodation but also good value for money due to the favourable pound to kuna exchange rate.
It was revealed in October that Europe's first rotating hotel will be built in Croatia at a cost of £90 million - a development that could appeal to those seeking a luxury holiday.
