Croatia could be best destination for a 2010 holiday
08 October 2009A holiday in Croatia in 2010 could be the ideal way to avoid the price hike in package holidays.
The average package deal is set to rise by £26 to £564, according to a report released by the Travel Trade Gazette, so breaks in countries that have adopted the euro currency could be too expensive for many.
The strength of the pound against the euro has crashed in recent months but it remains stronger in comparison against many national currencies.
Indeed, British tourists can currently exchange one pound for around eight Croatian kunas - and the average price for a pint of beer is just £1.26.
The report states: "Seasoned ¬industry observers believe the industry simply cannot sustain its current size. Prices will have to go up - even as demand slackens - and weaker firms will go to the wall."
Dubrovnik and Plitvice were last month highlighted as two of the "most beautiful" spots in Europe by online magazine In2Town
Croatian Villas offering villas, apartments and waterside properties from the people who really know Croatia.
