Croatia holiday could improve family health and wellbeing
28 April 2010A travel expert suggests taking a break - such as a holiday in Croatia - has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of both children and their parents.
John McDonald, director of the Family Holiday Association, believes it is in the interests of all to find a few days to spend away from home.
"I think getting a break away from home at bank holiday or the summer holidays is extremely important," he notes.
Mr McDonald adds holidays "have an impact on the local community" as "happier families make happier communities".
Walking in the Croatian countryside, taking a look at the historic sights of Dubrovnik or Split and relaxing on the Adriatic beaches could be just some of the activities with the potential to reinvigorate relations.
Despite figures from Skyscanner suggesting a break in the UK is becoming more popular due to the volcanic ash cloud, with flights now back up and running many may instead opt for an overseas trip in the coming months.
