07 May 2010A travel writer has advised tourists heading to Croatia in the coming months of the best spots to explore.
Daniel Landon, writing for TNT magazine, suggests Mljet is one of the prettiest and most relaxing of all the islands off the country's Dalmatian coast.
He urges people to visit, noting the western half of the island's status as a national park makes it an idyllic rural retreat that is best explore by bike.
People on a Croatia holiday looking to head a little further afield may wish to follow Mr Landon's words and take a ferry across the lake to Marija islands, where there is a "fascinating" Benedictine monastery.
And the writer's advice does not stop there, as he adds: "A trek in the hills of the Biokovo Nature Park, near Makarska, is a fantastic way of seeing the region and there are plenty of spots for white-water rafting."
