Croatia holiday 'offers tourists diverse experience'
19 April 2010Tourists who opt to head to Croatia this year will be met with a different and diverse country, according to a travel expert.
Meri Matesic, director at the Croatian National Tourist Office in London, says the range of activities on offer in the coastal country within a short distance makes it an interesting place to visit.
"In one day, within a few hours you can sail down, dive, go on the beach and in the next hour you can do mountain walking, biking, hiking, or whatever you want to do," she notes.
It is perhaps the country's special landscape that produces such a plethora of opportunities.
With an abundance of attractive beaches lining its Adriatic coastline, sunbathing and relaxing on the sand is widely available.
But just a few miles inland lies diverse countryside and mountain ranges, offering the chance for walking and mountain climbing.
If history is on the agenda, then families and couples should perhaps head to Dubrovnik, where the city's walls date back to the 12th century.
